What is Reiki?

Reiki roughly translates as "universal life force energy". The word simply means everything we are and everything we can see, touch and experience and more besides. In my own experience it has shown itself to me as "all knowing" energy - thus having a consciousness of its own. Everything is made of energy (as quantum physics has proven): people, animals, trees, water, rocks as well as our thoughts and emotions.

Our bodies know what this energy is - indeed we depend on it for our vitality and health, and the energy itself knows where to go to areas of need. Our body's energy is contained within every cell and every cell has it's own innate intelligence to be able to respond to the Reiki energy and to allow a transformation in the areas of dis-ease. Connected to each cell is the nerve system which sends info to and from the brain - the central computer if you like.  If either is programmed incorrectly - or data on past emotional traumas is not healed, cells can manifest symptoms directly in consequence.  I would refer you to an excellent resource on this science - Bruce Lipton's book "Biology of Belief". 

My theory is that if the body knows how to get itself into a mess, it sure should know how to get itself out of one! 

Reiki seems to be the living proof of this. Time and again unexplainable healings and easing of pains have been experienced (including by myself), though I also hold to the opinion that the chances of the healing "working" will be greatly enhanced by the client's willingness and belief in the process. Because the physical body is affected by not only one's mental but emotional state of well-being, Reiki's effects are not limited to the physical. It is also highly effective in the process of emotional release. This does not always happen during the treatment - but can happen a few days later - the Reiki having initially triggered the process. This is normal and to be welcomed.  

Reiki is also excellent in exposing past lives where they directly impact on and/or corollate to the issue at hand - be it physical or emotional. The majority of us will have hidden sources of issues relating to past lives, and during one of my sessions these will invariably come up to be released. It is very unusual not to find past life influences in any recurring or deeply set problem that we have. Unless the past life element is released or overcome, only a partial healing can at best be anticipated.             

I use the original form of Reiki developed by Mikao Usui which has only recently been introduced to the West via a direct and powerful lineage unlike the overly complicated versions that have been widely practiced here in the UK for some time and originally came over to the West after the Second World War.

Original Reiki is all about intuition and intention, is simple and uncluttered and is therefore very powerful. My past life training has been facilitated by my own journey of opening up to becoming more and more sensitive and intuitive, as well as the invaluable teaching of both spirit and Sue Stewart, a wonderful Alexander Technique therapist based in Wiltshire.  

A Reiki/Past life Treatment

Atreatment is done fully clothed. It is generally done lying down but can also be done sitting or standing. A full treatment lasts up to an hour. I will gently lay my hands on, or leave them slightly above the clients body in various places.

Our body only ever takes what it needs - and I will know when to move for example from one area to another.  I make no medical diagnoses, and will always suggest the client take medical advice if they feel at all unsure about whether it may be appropriate.  I will also make no promises to heal. Much will depend on the client and their willingness to work with the process. 

A treatment is generally relaxing, comforting and mentally calming.  Great care is taken to ensure that each client is made comfortable before, during and after each treatment.  Each client is offered a free 20 minute consultation before the first session, to make sure they are happy to proceed with the treatment. During that time I will explain what is going to happen, and we will also discuss any problems they may want help with, remembering that all material discussed will be undertaken in complete confidence.

Treatment cost - £40 per hour.  A standard Reiki/Past life session will normally last 1hr.
